The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea (MOF), in collaboration with the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation (KOEM), the Global Partnership on Marine Litter (GPML), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), are very pleased to announce that the 7th International Marine Debris Conference (7IMDC), the world’s largest and longest-running conference series dedicated to the issue of marine debris and plastic pollution, will take place from 18-23 September 2022 in Busan, Republic of Korea.
The call for Technical Session proposals for the conference has been launched and will be open until 07 January 2022. Technical Sessions will form the core of the conference agenda and will be organized around 12 thematic tracks. Session proposals will be evaluated on technical merit, interest and relevance to the greater marine debris and plastic pollution community, and ability to show multi-sectoral and/or multi-stakeholder engagement and cooperation. For more information on this Call for Technical Sessions, please review the Guidance Document on the 7IMDC website, where you will also find the link to the online submission form.
We encourage anyone interested in the conference to subscribe to our mailing list to remain up to date on the latest news and developments. Later, the call for abstracts and posters will be opened from February to April 2022 and more information will be communicated through the mailing list in due time.
